The DAV Department of Massachusetts (DAV Dept. of MA) has 41,000 members. We are an organization of disabled veterans focused on building better lives for disabled veterans and their families in Massachusetts.

The goal of the DAV Dept. of MA is to assist our members in obtaining benefits and services earned through their military service. Our funds are derived through the generosity of our membership and donations. We are not affiliated with the federal or state agencies.We are a non-profit organization.

As a state organization we work with our local and state legislators to ensure that we have an active voice in pending legislation and town regulations. We are partners with the DAV National Legislative Grass Roots efforts.

For eighty-five years we have sought to ensure that our state's veterans have a voice while adapting to the every changing needs of our homecoming veterans from the ravages of all wars and especially assisting those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. We accomplish this through our strong alliance with the DAV National Service Officers located in Boston and our hospital transportation net work at all the VA medical centers through out the state. All of these services are FREE to those in need.

Our Department depends on our 81 chapters located through out the state which is the window of our communities and the threshold to our disabled veteran population, their widows and their children. Our mission starts on the doorstep of these individuals.
